About us
Western Grammar School opened in 2012 to give the community a safe learning environment focused on character and quality education. Today we teach classes from Kindergarten to Year 12.
Our history
Western Grammar School was opened in 2012 with the aim of providing the community with a safe learning environment that focused on character and quality education. In its first year, WGS catered for barely a dozen students from Kindergarten to Year 4 and had only two single-storey buildings to teach them in.
Since then our school has grown, and we now teach classes up to Year 12.
In early 2016, WGS formally opened a new purpose-built double-storey building with new toilets, classrooms and a school hall. In 2020 the second purpose-built double-storey building opened, with more classrooms, a new library, a new science lab and offices for staff.
Western Grammar started from humble beginnings and has developed rapidly in a short time, and the future holds the possibility of greater achievements that will benefit Australia’s diverse community. We are committed to an individualised academic focus and to opportunities for creative expression for our students at every level of development.
With improved resources and premises, a growing student body and a dedicated team of passionate teachers, WGS is committed to fulfilling its promise of the best education in an enriching environment.
Achieving success at any level requires effort, determination and planning, but often we forget the most important part of aiming for success: making sure that the goal we strive for is worthwhile.

At Western Grammar School, we understand that a positive environment has a significant impact on a student’s ability to learn and grow.

We work to prevent discrimination on the grounds of gender, race and religion in every area of our school. Our school environment is based on well-guided Islamic teachings, with the aim of educating students to show positive moral and ethical behaviour in their personal lives as well as at school.

Philosophy
At Western Grammar School we follow a child-centred educational approach, based on religious and scientific observations from birth to adulthood. We believe that a child is naturally curious and is capable of initiating learning in a supportive and thoughtfully prepared environment.
Quality policy
Western Grammar School is working towards becoming a quality-conscious organisation and will take the necessary measures to secure our position as leaders of education in Australia. We are improving our infrastructure and educational facilities. We will achieve our target of quality education by:
- meeting all of Australia’s high standards of education and the requirements of government departments
- employing highly capable and qualified staff, since each member of staff directly contributes to upholding the school’s quality standards
- putting forward our best efforts to reach our targets while complying with all legal and regulatory requirements
- ensuring quality control by training the teaching staff and governing body to build their skills and keep improving their abilities

Uniform
