Facilities
Our facilities form an essential part of our students’ learning and educational experience. Learn more about Western Grammar’s library, science lab, computer labs, canteen, transport, parking and more in the following sections:
Harold Howe once remarked, “What a school thinks about its library is a measure of what it feels about education.”
Ever since it’s opening in 2012, Western Grammar has been dedicated to improving its library. Starting with a handful of books in a small corner of a room, our library has been progressively growing into a great collection of hundreds of books for people of all ages and backgrounds.
But a library is not just a collection of books – it is an environment that builds communities and acts as the centre of education and discovery. Our library at WGS is a safe space for students to come and read up on their interests whenever they are free. By encouraging a love of reading, libraries create a self-motivated interest in learning – an invaluable skill that leads to progress and improvement in every aspect of a child’s life.
Western Grammar is devoted to its library and encourages students to visit during their free time. Students at WGS are welcomed at the library during their free time and their weekly library classes. Primary students are limited to borrowing one book of their choice at a time while high school students are permitted to borrow more books and can also access teacher resources with permission.
Students are not allowed to borrow books until they have returned all books previously borrowed. If a book has been damaged or lost, a specified fee must be paid to the library before any other resource can be borrowed. Students can use their library cards for borrowing books and electronic devices.
If you have any suggestions or would like to inquire about borrowing or donating books, please do not hesitate to contact us at the library number during the following hours.

Technology is an important part of every modern school and integrating it into the classroom allows students to not only interact with the subject material at a deeper level but also teaches them the necessary skills in using computers responsibly. At Western Grammar, we also understand the importance of maintaining a balance between too much and too little technology.
Our school uses portable devices and provides computing spaces that are used by primary, high school and HSC students under proper supervision and guidance.
Western Grammar School’s Science lab is a well-equipped environment that facilitates students’ learning and exploration of Science. With integrated technology and a comprehensive array of resources, our lab is an essential part of WGS. Our Science teachers regularly demonstrate experiments, oversee practical lessons and encourage hands on learning, which ultimately inculcates important practical skills and abilities within our students.
Western Grammar School’s canteen is open every school day and provides a variety of nutritious options for students and staff alike.
Orders should be handed to the class teacher in the morning or given to the canteen by recess. All orders must have the student’s name and class clearly labelled and with the correct amount of money in an envelope. All hot food must be ordered. Orders given after recess time will not be accepted.
Please contact the school for the latest Canteen Price List.
